Sealed bids, in duplicate will be received by Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 188 at the office Edminster, Hinshaw, Russ and Associates, Inc., 10555 Westoffice Drive, Houston, Texas until 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 03, 2008, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read for the construction of the project:

A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 3:30 p.m., at the office of the Engineer for the District, Edminster, Hinshaw, Russ and Associates, Inc., 10555 Westoffice Drive, Houston, Texas.  Bids submitted by parties not attending the mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will not be accepted or opened.

The project consists of landscape enhancement of approximately 40,000 square feet surrounding an existing detention facility with a recently constructed amenity pond.  The landscape portion includes planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and aquatic plants.  Placement of landscape boulders and slope stabilization materials will be required as well as installation of a water irrigation system.  The project site is located on 408 A & B.

The above described construction will be performed in accordance with plans and specifications and any addenda thereto which may be issued prior to forty-eight (48) hours before the opening of bids.  Plans, specifications and bid documents may be obtained at the office of Edminster, Hinshaw, Russ and Associates, Inc., 10555 Westoffice Drive, Houston, Texas, with a $40.00 non-refundable charge for each set of documents obtained.

Bidders Bond, signed by both the surety and the Bidder, Cashier's Check or Certified Check in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total bid must accompany each proposal.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid deemed advantageous to it and waive informalities in bidding.  All bids received after the closing time above designated will be returned unopened.
