Construction Pricing Update

 

The EHRA Construction Phase Services Group has been tracking common infrastructure item costs during the 2021 unforeseen market fluctuation. Price increases are observed across the board, but we are focused here on the most common items such as concrete paving, storm drain, water and sanitary sewer pipe. Water and sanitary sewer pipe show the sharpest increase and the suppliers have confirmed PVC resin shortage is the cause.

We have been observing trends in pricing increases with multiple water related items.

8” PVC Water main – 8” PVC water main is bidding at an increase of 60% since the start of 2021.

Sanitary Trends

We have been observing trends in pricing increases with multiple wastewater collection items.

Of the common infrastructure items EHRA has been tracking for our clients projects, PVC 8” sanitary sewer main has seen the most drastic surge in costs.  8” PVC sanitary sewer main is bidding at over 60% increase since the start of 2021.

24” RCP storm drain – Reinforced concrete storm drain pipe is seeing a 34% surge in bid prices since the beginning of the year.

6” concrete paving – Concrete street paving is showing a moderate 9% price increase since the beginning of the year.
